Built on a tan wool hat, the crown and brim were hand-burned to create a weathered finish that gives every angle depth and character. A custom band made from .44 Magnum and .220 Swift brass wraps the hat, layered over a dark leather band secured with a metal cowboy toothpick for a rugged, one-of-a-kind finish.
Tucked into the band are two burned playing cards featuring a whiskey bottle and a buck, marked by three charred matches that were lit and left behind as part of the story. A found hawk feather and porcupine quill add texture from the wild, while leather ties trail from the back for just the right amount of movement.
This one feels like it belongs in the front seat of an old truck, tossed on a camp chair after a long day outdoors. Burned edges, spent brass, and worn leather come together to create a piece that doesn’t need much explaining.
